The Warriors won exactly the way I said they would have to. They kept their offense hot in the first three quarters and upped the ante in the fourth. This time the Spurs had no answer for the Warrior’s offense. The Spurs go from the wily, veteran team that can’t be beat to me thinking they are lucky to be in this series. They’re lucky because it was only inexperience that lost Golden State the first game. They didn’t make that mistake again.

Golden State crawls out of San Antonio with a split and now that’s the Spurs goal is to get the split in Oakland. If the Warriors play hot in front of the home town crowd for two straight games, the Spurs crawl back to San Antonio facing possible elimination and they will begin to wear down due to age. I predicted the Warriors in six and now this might end up being in five.

No point in counting one’s chickens before they hatch cause it’ll spoil the ju-ju, but I have no dogs in this fight, so for me it’s all just random speculation and watching good basketball, but I can’t see the Spurs having enough juice down the stretch to put them over the top.

They could run this team for a few more years but like Boston its wearing down and will become less and less competitive. Boston is due to blow up this off season but I think Spurs management will keep this team together just because they are so bloody good and so consistent. They just can’t run with the young guys anymore.
