Very interesting day!

I admit it -- I'm surprised by Harbaugh passing on Zach Ertz -- but he ironically turned Zach Ertz into an extra third round pick, and he got to draft his DL anyway. Had to argue against that move ...

... though I really did want Ertz.

I'm not sold on the Rice pick, as it is more of a project pick, but then again, Harbaugh freaking knows his TE's -- look at all his Stanford recruits turning into top draft picks -- so I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt on this pick for now.

It is ironic to me that Ertz *DID* help the 49'ers by turning into a 3rd round pick next year ... weird.

It's hard to argue with the 'Tank' pick -- we're talking top 10 talent pre injury. Obviously another likely candidate for the 'Redshirt' year, but I'm totally cool with that. This team is building for the long haul.

Lemonier is another solid pick, nothing flashy, and you can easily see him contributing in rotation.

Biggest surprises of the day for me?

How the Hell does Lacy go as the 4th back drafted? Yikes, I'm afraid Green Bay got one of the steals of the draft with this guy ... and we ironically helped them get him.

But I'm *totally cool* with this, for now, because I'm all but convinced that the 49'ers pick up Marcus Lattimore and "Redshirt" him. They are the team that can afford to do it, and Lattimore is an absolute beast, assuming he gets healthy. Lattimore is a freaking day 3 no brainer for the 49'ers. I say 4th or 5th at the latest.

How about the QB's? It's starting to get a little interesting. Barkley is a good kid who found himself in a bad situation at USC, and he likely would have been a HIGH first round pick before had he choice to abandon the sinking USC ship early.

Nassib seems like a good kid and you have to kind of feel bad for him -- his college coach didn't pick him, and he went from a possible first rounder to a ... ??? Hard to see him lasting past round 4, but still. Maybe Buffalo drafts him in round 4 similar to what the Redskins did last year.

You have to wonder if the 9'ers don't pick up a QB as a flyer developmental pick -- hell, the way Harbaugh works with QB's, they can starting turning the 9'ers into a QB factory and trade away QB's the way Philly used to ...

I'm very surprised that Jessie Williams is still on the board. He can't last much longer than the early 4th round -- what a great value pick, wowzers.

The British Olympian Okoye would be great in the 5th or 6th round. (Yes I'm obsessed with Okoye, and yes it might partially be due to my obsession with Win, but I really want the 9'ers to take a flyer on this guy).

As much as I hate this new NFL draft format ... I still love the DRaft!!!
