Why would Oakland pick the 44th ranked CB in the draft, the 376th ranked player in the draft, with their first pick in the first round? There are about 340 players ranked above this guy, about 40 CB's ranked above this guy who haven't been drafted yet. There has been 4 out of 53 CB's drafted so far, at rankings 1, 2 and 5, and then Oakland drops down and picks the 44th ranked guy. It can't be that they are so good at identifying the diamond in the rough player because I don't think they have leadership that good. And a guy ranked at 376th overall would easily fall to the last rounds. I cannot figure this pick out at all. So many great impact players they could have picked, so many other CB's ranked dozens of positions higher. Almost all of the players drafted so far are in the top 40 rankings and top 60's. The Rams grab Elam at the 148th ranking and the Bears grab Long at 185th ranking. Then a huge gap all the way down to the 376th ranking and that's the Raiders. Dare to be different!
