It makes sense to grab Ertz. Using our first two picks to backfill very important departures are smart moves. I was thinking that having a top heavy, high powered offense with a soft underbelly on the defensive line was not a smart move. Build from the inside out first. I was thinking grab the best Justin clone, then move outwards to safety, and then worry about tight end. But management made the right choice to shore up the Goldson gap. And I’d hate to short change Kaepernick on the offensive side of the ball. As we all know, along with being a terrific open field runner, he knows how to find the open receiver and hit them dead on. He and Walker had great chemistry.

Best players left in the draft: from scanning through Yahoo’s top ranked prospects listed by position I randomly come across these guys:

Keenan Allen – yes, he’s still out there and there’s only one pick in front of our next pick. What are the odds Jacksonville grabs him?

Jesse Williams – the classic double team plugger we so crave to crush the Seahawks, Falcons and Packers with.

Eddie Lacy, LeVeon Bell, Marcus Lattimore – All killer additions to a true bonified power running offense. Nobody goes wrong drafting Tide.

Zach Ertz – you know Harbaugh loves his Cardinal guys and we are a two tight end offensive system.

Tyrann Mathieu – 22nd ranked Cornerback in this draft. He'll be there waiting for us in later rounds. Why do some of us like him so much? I’m not sold on every aspect of this total package. I’m just sold on the one specific aspect and that is raw, relentless tenacity. I think he would return kicks and be willing to be mentored in how the Pro game works. Raw. A project. Turn him loose and let him make mistakes.
