These touch stats surprised me:

"Gore had 351 touches in 2012 and 341 in 2011, counting playoffs. That's up from 271 per season from 2008 through 2010. Gore missed nine games to injury over that span. He has missed one game over the past two seasons combined."

Finding a herd-breeding, turf-pounding bull of a running back remains a priority for the franchise, regardless of how good Hunter and James may be.

And unless AJ Jenkins basically does a Kaepernick and soars out of the blue half way through his second season, the team should be looking for a potential superstar wide receiver in this year's draft. Doesn't have to be in the first or second round, but it needs to be more than an afterthought.

No question, they also need fresh blood on the D line and in the secondary, and certainly another player as versatile as Delanie Walker wouldn't hurt. I just happen to think they could and should do a bit better at the flashy RB and WR positions if they're going to leave the division and the conference in the dust.
