But as amusing as your scenarios are, I'm surprised you don't acknowledge or recognize that Owens is way past being the man who ignites locker room fires. He's too desperate to have his last stint in the league, and long-since too chastened by the league's treatment of him, to be tempted into the kind of destructiveness you evoke. Philadelphia is irrelevant at this point. A GM would be looking more closely at how he behaved in Buffalo and Cincinnati, which was exemplary. I know that the idea of the 49ers beating NE in the fashion you describe is derived more directly from your hatred of Brady, and that's fine, but still... I would much prefer option 2 and one last playoff humiliation of old Peyton.
