Win,

Great post and excellent list of movies, though I have heard of none of them, but great that this blog is here to be exposed to something new.

Side Effects was indeed excellent and I believe we had a discussion on that one a while back when talking about the Mara Sisters. Yourself and Kevin also brought up the interesting movie, "Kitchen Stories".

I myself love to go to movie theaters. Especially in an outdoor mall. Dinner and a Movie. Have a nice meal, a few pops, and stroll on over to the theater. Corporate Entertainment America really has done a great job of renovating these places to really improve on the movie going experience. All of the negatives I hear mentioned regarding movie theaters I really do not experience. I can appreciate watching movies in the comfort and solitude of one's own home, and I do that as well, but I like to get out and make an evening of it and an experience. Now the local theaters are bringing in special super lounge chairs and a bar with beer on tap! Can't keep me away from the movie theaters. But its all mainstream, mostly Hollywood, pre-fabricated, Corporate America made movies. If you want to go see the Indies you have to find some obscure midnight theater near the University, or troll away online. But I'm happy with the latest Hollywood movie in the nearest Movie theater. Walking out of Silver Linings you realize Hollywood is good. Its a great Corporate product. Up there with NFL football. We consume Corporate commodities. They're very good. Having competition from the hordes of smaller Indie studios is, of course, good for the art.

On another note, I recently purchased an Apple TV device. Very small, about 4 inches square and not even an inch think. HDMI cable out to the TV and an Optical Audio cable (fiber optics cable with a red light at each end) to the Home Theater receiver. I think its great. You can even "Air Play" photos and videos from an iPhone directly to the TV. Seamless Apple integration of their entire product line. I would also like to get Roku next, just because of the incredible variety of content they have on there and its about half the price of Apple TV. Who needs DirecTV or Comcast when you've got Internet TV? Subscriptions to Netflix and Hulu for $7.99 each and that's just to start. The Apple TV interface is much easier to use than the Wii interface we were using.
