We did pick up a Safety in Free Agency. Craig Dahl, the Rams starting FS last year. You just mentioned him above. And who the heck knows whether or not he'll start.

Re: Asomugha. I'd been thinking about getting him to move him to safety. That's where he played when I first started watching him play ball. And he was something. But like Rod Woodson before him... he seems to want to stay at corner. If you'll recall, Woodson played Corner for us (it was in 1997, his 11th season as a pro), and after one season our coaching staff wanted him to move to safety. He said no way, refused to sign a new contract, and went off to join the Baltimore Ravens. Where they immediately shifted him to Free Safety. He played for 4 more years with Baltimore, at Safety, and won a Superbowl. Then he went on to play a couple of more years with Oakland.

I don't know where Asomugha will play in our defense... but I figure he will play. And the extra added benefit we'll probably see is the influence he'll have on a guy like Culliver.

For the last two years I've watched Culliver copy everything Goldson did on the field, from the swagger, to the celebration, to the overly aggressive play. It was like watching a little brother copy everything his older brother did.

I think a role model who's a little more obsessed with technique will be good for Culliver.
