Win, I looked at the running back receiving totals from the past several years, and this is what I found. Last year, Hunter, James, and Miller caught 24 passes to Gore's 28. The year before, Hunter/Dixon/Miller caught 28 to Gore's 17. Before H, the RB to Gore ratios were 21/48 (Frank missed 5 games), 18/52, 33/43 (Frank missed two games), and 29/53. Certainly the improved receiving corps made a difference, but what I noted is that Hunter was on getting 15-20 catches per season, and, more telling to me, Miller got over 10 each year. I think it's H's philosophy to use a stable of backs more than it was for Sing and Nolan. Those guys really forced Frank on defenses, and you have to wonder if some of our lesser players would have performed at a more satisfactory level with better offensive minds. Sure, Arnaz Battle was not going to be a superstar, but I suspect he would have had decent totals on this offense.
