So the rule-happy NFL is at it again huh. After these last few years, I'd like to see that NFL rulebook. It's gotta be like reading the Gettysburg Address 50 times over. Just what they needed, more intricate rules.

The absurdity of this is that, once again, it leaves way too much open for interpretation. So again, the consistency of this call will be terrible....enforced on some, not on others. Guaranteed.

They come out in their infinite wisdom and say that if the rule had been in place last year, it would've only been called 11 times. Sure. Real easy to say that after looking at a bunch of film over coffee and donuts in a leather lounge. But making the call ON THE FIELD, at GAME SPEED, will most likely be a totally different situation, affected by immediate interpretation. That's great. We needed more intricate interpretation rules, so guys like Ed Hochuli can continue to deliver their elaborate commentary after big calls.

I absolutely love the Twitters a lot of these NFL guys are coming out with today over this crap. I saw things like "Well, I'm gonna set up a 'lowering the boom' fund"....and "I refuse to slide".....and "I'll have to renegotiate my contract to pay all my fines", etc. Just complete rebellious disgust being shown by all of them, it's great.

Should make for a nice "BOO-ING" session when Sheriff Goodell walks out on the stage in April!
