This Woodson to the 9ers thing that keeps being talked about more and more is really troubling. Usually, when you talk about replacing a guy like Goldson, you generally have a younger, up-and-coming type guy with a similar skill set and high ceiling who is just waiting for his moment to shine. But in this case, we are talking about an older, slower, possible injury type guy, not to mention less physical.

The unique thing about Goldson is that he may not have a ton of INTs, but all those WOO-HITS he lays cause damage and sometimes fumbles and alligator arms. So he's not just a highlight reel for big hits, he has caused turnovers and lots of punishment.

I don't mind if they must let Goldson go, as long as they have a player in mind with potential, who presents a promising, high-upside replacement. Most of all, I don't want anyone older and SLOWER.

I'm completely underwhelmed with the thought of Woodson back there. Not only does he have a ton of mileage by NFL standards, but he's slow now, and has dealth with recent injuries.

I certainly hope Baalke doesn't become too enamored with the defensive player of the year thing a couple years ago. We need SPEED back there. As it was, Matt Ryan and Flacco tore us up in the secondary. It certainly won't be a step UP with Woodson. Christ, just re-sign Goldson already.
