By the way, gang, this Seahawks-49ers arms race makes good media fodder, but the Boldin trade shouldn't take our eyes off the real question of comparison with Seattle, and that's whether you think Wilson and Harvin will become a more powerful read-option duo than Kaepernick and LaMichael James.

And purely on that point, I'll give the short-term advantage to Kaepernick and James. They have the benefit of already playing together for a season, and they're a more natural read-option pair than Wilson and Harvin. In fact, I kind of expect Harvin to be more like a Wes Welker type slot option for Wilson. I also think it may take more than one off-season for Carroll et al to find the best ways to use Harvin in their offense.
