Okay, now that the draft is not that far off, we need to look at strategy. Position is key, but there are other factors, too. For instance, we could do quite well with an Alabama draft. I know that Kevin often eyes Stanford players. One could go all SEC or Pac 10 or whatever. However, the key to a great draft is in name. There are two strategies here. One, the most boring names possible, or two, the strangest names possible. The 49ers have good examples of both. Kaepernick to Crabtree is a good example of the latter. Smith and Smith are in on the sack a good example of the former. So, without further ado, here is my example of good choices in the boring category.

In the 1st round/1st pick in the 2nd:
Jesse Williams, DT, Alabama
Barrett Jones, OL, Alabama
Eric Reid, S, LSU

3rd round on:
Aurthur Brown, OLB, Kansas
Robert Woods, WR, USC
Steve Williams, CB, Cal
John Simon, DE, Ohio State

The odd name draft:
1st:
Barkevious Mingo, rush LB, LSU
Chance Warmack, OG, Alabama
(Mingo and Warmack will be long gone barring a major trade up)
Bjoern Werner, DE, FSU (sliding fast)
Blidi Wreh-wilson, CB, UConn (my favorite name this year; I want to draft him and then in a year or two draft Ha-Ha Clinton-Dix to be our safety)
Manti T'eo, LB, ND (we all know the name, so it feels normal, but Manti is not a common first name)

3rd round on:
Bacarri Rambo, S, UGA
Philip Lutzenkirchen, TE, Auburn
Jamoris Slaughter, S, ND
Caleb Terbush, QB, Purdue

These are just a few of the possibilities. I am sure I am missing people who are obvious
