Kevin-  I think that the defense fell off not only because of injuries, but because they were tired.  The coaching staff keeps the starters out there way too much in my opinion.  They need to learn to use the backups more in a rotation.  Even if we concentrate using draft picks to bolster the d-line depth, if the coaching staff doesn't use them, then it's not going to make a difference.

I know many only read articles or watch shows about the 49ers.  I watch a lot of ESPN and NFL Network.  I thought it was odd that the analyst's talked about the 49er defense falling off, but never mentioned the other teams who had fallen off too.  We've been known as a team with great defense, and special teams, who has a strong running game, and a ball control passing game.  That image of the 49ers is changing in my view.  The offense is no longer the weak sister of the team.  I strongly believe that the 49er offense is going to be ranked in the top 10 next year.  They are explosive, and put up a lot of points and yards now.
