I would think that Scot Mc deserves some of the credit for those picks. Even if we assume Nolan had any eye for talent it was his lack of ability to organize it on the field that killed the team. And yes, these all had to be high picks, unless some of these had been traded away in bad moves. Alex Smith was the number one pick of the draft in 2005 so that tells you where we were in the standings in 2004. Harbaugh and Baalke brought in a lot of good players but they inherited some as well. Dashon Goldson, 4th round in 2007 was a good pick. I think he's earned a chance at getting his market's worth. He's not going to play at this level forever.
