Brian Jennings is our Long Snapper. He's been with the team for 13 (?) years, always listed as a TE, and I don't know if he's ever played a down in 13 years as a TE.

As for Dobbs... they gave him the TE designation when they switched his number to an offensive number. He's a DE. They used him a lot as a FB or as a Blocking TE. But with the Defensive Number on his jersey he had to report as an eligible receiver every time he walked on the field. It became burdensome. So they simply switched his number and called him a TE.

Re Spillman. A few seasons ago he was getting more playing time with San Diego, and that's where we saw him. Like Tolzien, he had a great game against the Niners in pre season, so we grabbed him when they put him on waivers.

Again, I'm not saying Spillman is the next Ronnie Lott. But just as it took Goldson a few seasons to develop into a solid player... Spillman has been on the team, working as his back-up, learning how to play within the confines of the defensive scheme.
