The job's not done yet.

Wet Blanket here just mentioning that back in '87 the Niners traded a 2nd and a 4th round pick to Tampa Bay for one Steve Young.

With those picks Tampa Bay drafted Vinny Testaverde (QB) and Bruce Hill (WR), and promptly went on to post 10 straight losing seasons.

it ain't the number of picks you've got... it's what you do with them.

So right now we have two "We'll sees". 1) Is this trade really a done thing? 2) What's Baalke gonna do with all those picks??? (I wouldn't be shocked to see a bunch of those later round picks bundled up into a package to move up at some point.)

A thought did finally work it's way through the melon yesterday. Remember the first reports of the Smith trade? As proof that the Niners were considering trading Smith it was mentioned that the Niners were talking to the Agents of some high profile Defensive Backs and saying that once Smith was traded they'd have lots of money for signing free agents.

Cool. But the question that remains is; The Agents of which high profile defensive backs?
