I'm not sure I want Smith in the same division. Not that I think he'll singlehandedly do tremendous damage, but it will be awkward twice a year having to be reminded of all the history implicit with his presence. Send him off to K.C. Like we did with some of our other past quarterbacks. including you know who. But would he want to start all over again with a worst in the league team? I guess what comes back in return really is pretty important.

Rob, as you know, there are no end to entertainment options in Vegas. I find it easier to have a lot planned out with some room for improvising along the way. If you look carefully you can find lots of discounts, half price and two-for-one deals.

Watching the combines really changes your perspective. All the fine-tuned micro-analyzing of every twitch and gesture kind of makes you forget that 'game instincts' and 'football saavy' are important too. Those analyst/critics getting obsessed over fractions, inches and hundredths of a second differences make the combines seem like a self-contained contest unto itself. I know there is real importance to what goes on, but having the NFL network on for any amount of time becomes a weird experience. Some of those 'draft experts' need to get a life! I doubt many actually enjoy the game itself, but seem obsessed with measuring and comparing, regardless of the end results team wise. Like literary, movie and art critics more concerned with forms and formalities than the unmediated impact of the work itself. Of course top draft picks have to have a certain level of measurable skills, but there's a lot more than that in becoming a top player. And the quasi-IQ type tests have some value but can't measure all the internal energies at play.
