Kevin, ditto to GT's response. It never ceases to amaze that we can come here and find someone as knowledgeable as you offering specific solutions so soon after such a momentous occasion.

Regarding Frank Gore, I must reluctantly agree with your diagnosis. Only a few short seconds ago I watched yet another replay of his great 30-yard run down the left sideline to set up that final frustrating first-and-goal at the 7-yard line...and I thought while watching it, that if only Frank were a hair or two better or stronger or faster - or if he were someone else! - he might have been able to cut inside on that run and reach the endzone, obviating the entire heartache of those subsequent four downs. And truth be told, as fabulous as I think he has been, as much as I idolize him in fact, it's been a feature of his whole tenure as the 49ers lead rusher that he has never really had breakaway speed. Unfortunately the abiding image of his career in my mind is him being caught from behind on a long run rather than pulling away and motoring into the endzone for six.

GT, as long as you run this blog, I'll be here, no doubt about that. And thanks yet again for making sure the forum was available to us all at this special time.
