You kind of have to focus on the entertainment value of the actual football game. You get caught up in all the other stuff and it detracts from the entertainment value of the football game. All we want to see is a good game and our team wins. You can't be responsible for the actions and behaviors of these 53 grown men who only come into our lives and our awareness just because they play football and wear red and gold. Life is way too complicated for each person watching the game, let alone all the guys playing the game, so you gotta keep it simple and just focus on the actual game itself. Sounds like a limited and reductionist point of view but I think that's the main thing we all want, not to get involved in someone else's personal life or public life PR disasters. Then its just too much. Besides, its all just words, put a Mic in front of these guys mugs and the noise that comes out. It doesn't mean they're bad people. It just means they've spent their lives only thinking through what they do on a football field and never focused on anything else. That's the sacrifice a young guy makes to be that good at one thing. Maybe all of us have better thought out views of the world and we're also twice their age and we never got famous for doing one thing so bloody good. Its really just a game. That's what we want. The Media wants juicy stories. Let them have it. We get our game.
