I have very mixed emotions about HGH. Or put it this way, it's a very different issue to me than steroids. Here's the thing: in my book, any athlete (any person for that matter, but it wouldn't affect my job) should be allowed to use whatever possible to heal as fast as possible. And if AP used this stuff to get better faster, I say more power to him. The tricky part is whether the person continues to use it once healed, and that I do not agree with. But my feeling is that the league should look into regulated use for players who are injured. Do the baseline drug testing before treatment, administer it by league doctors, keep a very strict chart, and at a certain point in the healing process it is removed. You continue to chart levels to make sure they return to normal. But to me, to tell a guy who has a very limited window to make a living, sorry, you're going to have to heal over two years rather than 8 months, and you won't be as strong as you could have been--that's just wrong. There ought to be a way to handle it.
