Two quick observations:

The Atlanta Falcons were a worthy opponent. They have a lot of really good players, they're well coached, and for a good stretch of the game, they played better than the 49ers. But they ran into a slightly better team that wouldn't quit, and the Falcons didn't have quite enough in their tank to prevail.

Again, we need to give a lot of credit to Greg Roman. This time for not abandoning the run when the team fell behind by 3 possessions. Using LaMichael James early to get the running game going, and sticking with Frank Gore, who is obviously as frisky as he's ever been, were the right things to do. The other adjustments that were made coming into the game were important, but the nerve in the face of adversity during the game was more impressive.
