Win, I believe that the league made some rules changes about shifts, or at least we were told certain kinds of shifts might be called penalties (there were complaints by some teams last year that one or two of our shifts were along the lines of misleading the defense, a kind of offense's version of the twitch), so H may have felt it's not worth the penalty risk.

I think Walker is a great example of a multiple-use player who is being handled right. TE, TE split like a WR, H-Back. There is a lot of overlap in these positions, and Walker can fill the responsibilities of each. Taking a DT and making him a full back is a very different thing. I have seen it work in college, but there are plenty of DTs in college who are very average football players. The worst DTs in the NFL would be starting for pretty much any college program and doing well. They aren't going to get bowled over by another DT who doesn't have a huge head of steam. Their technique is too good.
