So, it's the defenses robbing Vernon of his targets.

As has been said by many, if they continue to double Vern, it will open up others.

I'm trying to get a handle on how the Niners can slow down (notice I didn't say shut down) Rodgers and the Green Bay offense. I know they can stop their pedestrian running game, even with Justin Smith dinged and/or missing. The problem is getting pressure on him without a lot of blitzing.

I think the Niners can and will come up with an offensive game plan to put up points. That shouldn't be a problem. I also think there should be an emphasis on running the football again. The Packers have one guy who is stout against the run, Raji. Double team him or run away from his gaps and Frankie should have a good game (with the old change-of-pace from LMJ).
