By the way... I agree with bp 100%. If the QB is out of the pocket, and acting like a blocker... bury the sucker.

And I'll tell you... I've been thinking about it, and I think the only way to really deal with these fast, athletic QBs is to treat them like an extra Tailback.

Words like "Kill them" "Bury them" "Plant them" are all a matter of hyperbole. But the idea behind those words hold water. Hit those running QBs enough and you discourage them from running with the ball.

Running backs take a heck of a beating through their careers. That's why their careers are usually so much shorter than QB's careers. Pocket QBs that is.

That's one of the reasons I like the way our coaches are dealing with Kaepernick right now. They're not discouraging his running. But they are encouraging him to stay behind the LOS and find a receiver. He'll last a lot longer that way.
