GT - that's exactly right. Well said. Or even another way to look at it: A QB 15 yards downfield leading the way as a blocker is no longer a QB, and should be treated as such.

Basically, the DB must "remove" the blocker(threat) who is in the path of the ball carrier so that the other persuer can get to the ball carrier. And, oh by the way, just as a fringe benefit, you get to legally demolish an opposing QB. That's the risks you take as a QB being a downfield blocking hero!


The Skins will look at that film (or not I guess) on Tuesday, and someone will grill that DB for allowing Wilson to block him and not taking advantage of a royal opportunity to lay a crushing blow to an opposing QB who basically has declared himself eligible. It's fundamental stuff.
