Jack - if you saw the play, it wasn't anything close to a "blind side" hit. At all. He was a downfield blocker, looking DIRECTLY AT the DB and preparing to block him! And I'm not talking about an illegal helmet hit. I mean a legit, vicious shoulder smack. And yes, without question, the DB should've drilled him right into the ball carrier in an attempt to 1) lay a nasty whack on an opposing QB, and 2) hit him so hard that he would've angled Wilson right into the ball carrier, thus essentially stopping the ball carrier or knocking him out of bounds. Football may have changed, but laying brutal legal hits is still part of the game, last time I checked. When they finally ban that, maybe we can go back to leather helmets.
