Arnold,

Oh yes, the Mighty Habs and the fabled stories you have told. We could scrape the archives of these football blogs and come up with a half dozen books on your interests and experiences, but one special one dedicated to the Habs. I am very non-plussed about the NHL season and I will not let myself commit to any enthusiasm at present but this morning I did decide I will sit and watch the first few games, preferably at a sports tavern with friends, and let my interest level climb on a spontaneous, organic level. Flames, Avs but the original Six are what I really think about. It would be important to the league if all the Original Six did not go too many decades between Stanley Cup championships, the Wins having climbed back out after 40 years with Scotty Bowman, the Blackhawks more recently, but its those bloody Mable Leafs (or Laffs as my Toronto friends call them) that have to be resurrected. Some of the poorest management of any sports franchise of the past several decades, and yet they still sell out at the highest premiums in North America.

I'm going to watch some hockey games and if the bug bites me again then start to research who's who on all the teams yet again. I don't blame hockey. I blame the NHL Corporation.
