A possible GB and Atlanta route to the Superbowl? Just like it was back with the Young to Owen winning catch in 1998. But the loss to Atlanta was a real bitter pill to swallow the week after that dramatic win.

I think the odds are pretty accurate. It should be close, but the home team Niners should be able to disrupt Rodgers enough to keep their scoring within reach. The linebackers will have their work cut out, dealing with the short passing game but with great lateral speed and punishing hits I think it can be dealt with. Culliver better be careful in coverage because Rodgers will be looking his way whenever possible.

This is Kap's chance to really imprint his image on the league. Lately he's been largely contained whenever the running option comes up. All opponents are ready and prepared for that. He'll have to win with his arm more than his legs, though just that threat is a valuable part of the equation. If he can play with poise and spread the ball around there's no reason to think he can't put up around thirty points. With the running game working solidly too, of course. Containing Mathews will also be a key. And moving or sealing off that huge presence in the middle of their line. I think the offensive line is mobile enough, but is it strong enough?

Re the NHL season. Historically these fractional shortened seasons are blips that no one remembers or cares about once over. No credibility for whoever wins in terms of a legitimate place of honor in the history books. So it's hard to have enduring passion for what transpires. I look at it more as a tournament without continuity. I'm interested to see the chemistry of different teams, but just as entertainment and a preview of the season after. Quite honestly, I've totally lost track of the personnel and issues of the teams I watch most. Just doing a quick search reminded me that the Habs went through a major shakeup with a new GM, head and assistant coaches, lots of promising draft picks. And I guess that means I need to add more autographs for my collection to keep it intact for a 58th continuous season. But I'm so tempted to finally sell it once and for all and be done with the need to always update it. But it's almost like one of those streaks of playing in consecutive games. Literally almost my entire life mirrored by autographs of every player who ever donned the tricolor!
