Just for the record, the Akers downfall started well before any kind of hernia resulting from any long kick. It started in 2010 missing kicks with the Eagles, and extended into the 2010 divisional playoffs where he lost his confidence and missed 3 field goals including 41 and 34 yarders, and became the Packers most valuable player, sending them to Altlanta and ultimately, to the Superbowl. Philly sure could've used the extra 9 points he missed, as they lost by only 5 or 6 points in that game.

Sure, the 63 yarder in Green Bay was fabulous. But the misses have more than made up for that in a costly costly loss and tie. And out of the 8 he missed in 2011, didn't he miss 3 in a game then also?

He may have some sort of hernia, but there's more hurting on him than just his groin. There's a reason Philly let him walk after 2010.
