I think you're right about Akers being derided so much by us. Like I was saying he had to quit his Twitter account because of death threats which is totally unreasonable, much like what happened to Kyle Williams after the fumble and muff in the conference final game. These guys are human after all and our insatiable need for ego boosting football victories is just not that important on the purely entertainment level to justify treating someone that way. However, during a game, after every missed field goal we may be audibly cursing him but that's a normal fan thing that shouldn't extend into his personal life. I do believe its acceptable to point out his shortcomings where it affects two clear possible victories this year, in other words, we can evaluate his on the field performance.
