So this is the best solution? A kicker who was already cut twice this year and inactive much of the season. And most remembered for blowing a chance to decide a playoff game last year? I think I would rather stick with Akers, hoping that this move will help get him focussed and competitively energized. In the end, I think it would look much worse having a one game hired foot with a poor recent track record in a potential critical game deciding situation. Akers at least has more potential from long distance. I guess the intent is to make the next two weeks highly competitive and get one of them to show more than the other. But of all the unemployed kickers, is this the best they can do?
