Re the receivers: Moss, Ginn, and Walker are all FAs. Kyle and Mann have undergone serious surgeries. We are basically looking at Crab, Vernon, and Jenkins as certain to be here. Now, if both Kyle and Mann can come back, awesome, but most players take two years to come back from that injury. Bottom line: we are going to need at least one more receiver.

Other needs: 3-4 DE, safety (for depth at least, starter if Goldson is not re-signed), center (for the future), corner.

We are in good shape at: running back, QB (though should draft another back-up in a later round), LB.

If we have all of those draft picks, we can trade up. We have a 1st, 2nd, and 2 3rds (and maybe another 3rd that's a compensatory). We could move higher in the 1st and/or trade into the 2nd, etc. In his article, Matt M says we most likely wouldn't trade Alex (or anyone) for picks this year because we have so many, which makes sense to me, but also because very few would likely make the team. Of that I am not certain at all. And receiver would have a good chance of making it, as would a defensive lineman, especially interior. We are very thin at safety. After Whitner and Goldson (if we re-sign him) we really don't have anyone. Our back-up corners are average. Our OL back-ups are certainly unimpressive (and the starters are, too, sometimes). We certainly could use a punt returning--and I suspect we'll see a receiver who returns kicks drafted.
