Speaking of pluggers:

Justin Smith has a partially torn left triceps, according to a report by the Sacramento Bee.

Smith has not played since he was injured in the 49ers' Sunday night win over the New England Patriots on Dec. 16.

According to the report, the injury will likely require offseason surgery, but the team is hoping Smith can "can tolerate the pain enough to be effective during the playoffs."

This is not good news for the playoffs. RJF cannot fill that void. I just hope Justin can play enough to be effective without damaging himself further.

This team is getting decimated with injuries. No where near as healthy as last year going into the playoffs but we all knew that was luck in that "Cinderella" season of sorts, and a huge part of our success in getting to 13-3 and beating the Saints.

Not so this year. Injuries are killing us.
