Kevin, I have not seen Werner play, but I have read he is excellent, but he's more a rush linebacker (255 lbs.). I like Jesse Williams fine, but I don't know if he is 1st-round worthy. I also don't know if he's more of a 3-4 DE or NT. He weighs 320. Justin and McDonald are in the 285-290 range. Soaps has played well as NT, and I don't think that's where we need the depth. Ricky Jean has filled in at the nose and done pretty well. But Williams is not an NT in Ngata's league, so I don't know I would want to replace Soaps with him.

Todd McShay, in his first mock draft (for which he just placed teams according to current record), which has us drafting 29th, has us taking Sharrif Floyd, DT from Florida. He weighs 298 and can play inside or outside. I don't know a lot about him, but he certainly seems to fit what we would be looking for to replace Justin eventually. This is a very deep draft for DL and OL. Jesse Williams might be available in the 2nd round. I think we'll have 4 needs: DT/DE, OL, WR, CB. What we do in FA will be huge, of course, and whom we do not re-sign.

I looked at Scouts Inc.'s grades of players, and they have Jesse Williams and DJ Fluker graded as 2nd-round players, Barrett Jones as 2nd-3rd. Robert Lester, a very solid safety, is graded as a mid-rounder. I would be ecstatic if we could get Williams, Jones, or Fluker in the 2nd. Jones in the 3rd would be the steal of a draft.
