Win, I turned off the game after the 3rd quarter, but it is true that Kap did not play well. It's also true that everyone else was terrible, too. The OL was weak, the receivers didn't get open, Carlos Rogers was out of position a number of times, the special teams unit had numerous breakdowns right from the get-go, etc. And I think Roman called an average game at best. But if you look at the other game when we got spanked, specifically the Giants game, you see the same thing. It wasn't just Alex, even though he threw 3 picks. The whole team was awful. I wouldn't put that game all on Alex (and didn't at the time). Akers missed 2 FGs in that game. And against the Vikings Alex had very similar numbers to Kap. 1 TD, 1 int. Over 200 yards. But the rest of the team was poor, too. Akers had a field goal blocked. The defense didn't know what to do with Harvin and Ponder. That game was not all on Alex. And in both games we gave up on the run relatively early. So I try to look at context. The things we/you took to be promising for the season with Alex: following the Vikes game with two blowouts to put us at 4-1. Following the Giants games with two wins, one against the Seahawks, to put us at 6-2, are the same kinds of things that make me feel we are at least no worse off with Kap: 4-2 with wins against Chicago (one of the hottest teams at the time), NO (also one of the hottest teams at the time) and NE (at their place where they haven't lost in December in I believe 9 years), but a loss to the Seahawks who are undefeated at home and in horrible weather. And I think we all need to recognize that Seattle has one of the two or three best defenses in the league and certainly one of the best QBs. Luck will win ROY, but one could make a very convincing case for Russell Wilson. My point is simply that this team has played extremely well with both quarterbacks and very poorly with both quarterbacks. Both quarterbacks have played very well at times and poorly at times. And there hasn't been a quarterback in this league who hasn't had some rotten games. It is so easy for us as fans to get upset over a terrible performance and project that onto all future games (and likewise to project an incredible performance over all future games), but the reality is there will be good ones and bad ones. It's a matter of ratio. Who knows what will happen in the playoffs, but considering his play the last 6 games, I see no reason to doubt Kap any more than Alex.
