Rob, true, no doubt. But in a crisis before the playoffs maybe shock therapy can jump start them. They look dog tired out there on defense. Next week isn't as important as the week after. And at this point, any playoff opponent will be a real challenge regardless of where it's played.

I think recent history has shown that it's who is hot late in the season that matters more than the cumulative season record. The Seahawks and Packers are the hottest in the conference now. And Atlanta is getting back there. So is Minnesota if they manage to win next week and work their way in as a wildcard. And if Washington wins, they too will come into the playoffs on a roll. So anyone the Niners play will probably have momentum going for them. A win next week won't reverse the damage of tonight, so maybe just prepare for the week beyond by resting all key players.
