A scenario where SF, Chicago and Minnesota win today could push Seattle out of playoff contention altogether.

Seattle winning means they move up to a half game behind us, grab the 4th seed, we fall to the 3rd seed and GB gets the 2nd seed.

The NFC contending teams are all so close in the standings that any win or loss by any team really changes the seedings.

A win tonight just means we don't care what the other teams do, we just grab the 2nd seed out and out, not having to have our fate decided by the other teams.

So there is a lot on the line today, and I think the seeding is far more important than the division standings, which wouldn't change - we're still on top, or the Harbaugh/Carroll rivalry, which will probably be a factor in rallying the troops.

The most important thing we gain tonight is keeping that 2nd seed and the possibility of getting the first round bye, and then our first playoff game at home. Very critical to win tonight for even just that one reason.
